About me

Bug, a non-binary photographer, explores the intersections of identity, environment, and social justice through their work. Rooted in feminist and humanitarian values, their most recent work focuses on the often-invisible people in society, aiming to foster connection and address the growing epidemic of loneliness in an increasingly disconnected world. Throughout their wider body of work, Bug examines the Anthropocene era, highlighting both the beauty and vulnerability of our planet. Their photography delves into how human interactions with the environment reflect deeper truths about our relationships with ourselves and others. Central to their practice is a commitment to ethical photography, ensuring that each image respects and honors the dignity of its subjects. At the heart of Bug’s work is a deeply personal journey—an exploration of body, self, and love. Photography becomes a medium for catharsis, allowing them to process experiences of growth, trauma, and healing. Each image becomes a visual dialogue with their own evolving sense of self, while simultaneously inviting viewers to engage with broader conversations about community, resilience, and shared responsibility. Their work challenges the viewer to reflect on their place within these interconnected narratives, fostering awareness and encouraging a deeper sense of empathy toward both people and the planet.
