BA (Hons) Fine Art
I am a multi-disciplinary artist mainly focusing on performance art and drag. My work is conversational with myself and others, it’s directly influenced by what is happening in my life at that moment. I discuss the absurd discomfort of the everyday and the ugly feelings that are bubbling up underneath. My practice is greatly informed by research and reading novels that help contextualise and give different perspectives on discomfort, violence and abjection. Writing is another aspect of my practice that enables me to articulate and unveil what it is I actually care about. I explore ideas using performance and drag as a way to create engagement that is instant and active, the work is often equal parts the work I create and how the audience interact and become part of the work.
