Bürgel is a fourth-generation seamstress and Queer interdisciplinary textile artist. Interested in sacredness and power structures, their practice is an exploration into the creation of a personal mythology, drawing from folklore, fables and myth, often pertaining to East Anglia. Influenced by Jack Halberstam's theories in, 'The Queer Art of Failure,' they focus on storytelling from the perspective of passed down information, knowledge and skills, often through word of mouth and a naïve lens.
