MA Service Design
I am a public service designer with ten years of experience in Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, specialising in human resource development, public governance, and organisational learning. My work sits at the intersection of government systems and the everyday lives of communities.Drawing on my MA Service Design studies at UAL, I focus on designing the conditions that allow trust, empathy, and collaboration to grow inside public institutions.I work through ethnographic research, co-design, workshop facilitation, and relational prototyping—supporting civil servants, local mediators, and citizens to become active participants in shaping public life.My practice aims to shift public services from efficiency-led delivery to relationship-centred governance. I am particularly interested in how rural and urban communities can be reconnected through “relational populations,” creating long-term engagement rather than one-off participation.I design for trust: the quiet, continuous work that sustains communities and public value.
