About me

My recent work explores the tension between attraction and repulsion. My fascination with this encounter puts the body at the centre of my work. I have a particular interest in the inner parts of the body, the grotesqueness of what is concealed, while still being playful and attractive in the way I choose to construct my sculptures. These themes have been evident in my practice, research and dissertation. Although my work is mixed media, I predominantly use textiles. With different types of recognisable fabrics, the tactile aspect adds value to the work, enticing an engagement and interaction with the viewer. The forms tend to hold an uncomfortable quality yet the material used in my pieces helps to draw the viewer in.
