BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear
As a science education background student, Fashion design more like a ‘problem’ solving process. Scientific thinking and art are my two legs, Because of this, my design always aiming to give more functional parts or details under the visual presentation. Tech-wear is one of the most representative design trends of future-oriented and functional design, but for me, I think the existing Tech-wear like Nike ACG, Stone-Island, and Acronym looks too dark and sexless, they are trying so hard to defend the outworld and play cool. Build a soft side of the Tech-wear is my long-term target. Because I have the love of science and function inside me but I also have the desire to show the elegant, optimistic of life and feminine at the same time. I am neither a pure romantic designer like John Galliano nor a pure functional designer like the owner of Acronym Errolson Hugh. I would love to find the balance point of these two sides and I called that soft Tech-wear. This may not be easy, but that’s what makes it interest. Combine with Science and technology and artistic design to serve the daily life of office lady would be my short-term and long-term vision.
