Tong Wu’s work explores personal growth and healing through the medium of photo-therapy. Her current project documents her journey back to Zhuhai, China, as she revisits childhood memories, particularly those related to school bullying. By reflecting on these experiences, Tong aims to raise awareness of the emotional impact of bullying and provide support to those facing similar challenges. Through photo-therapy, Tong has rediscovered positive moments from her past that had long been forgotten. These memories have played an essential role in her healing process, illustrating that healing is a gradual journey, rather than something that happens immediately. Finding comfort in the small, joyful moments of life has helped shape her understanding that the process of healing is more meaningful than lingering on past pain. As a photographer, Tong works across various genres, including fashion, street, portraiture, and cosplay photography. Born in Wenzhou in 2001 and raised between Guangdong and Zhejiang, she now divides her time between London and China. Her multicultural upbringing has significantly influenced her artistic vision. An early fascination with animation and cosplay ignited her passion for photography. Currently, Tong is honing her skills as an MA student in Commercial Photography at the London College of Communication. Her work focuses on capturing authentic moments, with a philosophy of finding beauty and joy in everyday life—a theme that remains central to her creative practice.
