Bleona Fazliu - Graduate

BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles: Embroidery

About me

Final year student at London College of Fashion, studying a BA (Hons) in Fashion Textiles: Embroidery. Bleona Fazliu specialises in craft and heritage-based textiles which are narrative-led and focus on the blend of traditional with the digital. These techniques result in innovative, intricate, and impactful textiles that fit into today’s world. The appreciation of textiles and slow processes are at the forefront of the fashion industry as we try to move into a world of care and responsibility about our actions in regards to our environment. Whilst still fitting into the current contemporary needs, being inspirated by surroundings and heritage as the main lead into the development of her textiles, Bleona taps into personal cultural inspirations alongside her current surroundings - either through simply looking outside the window or through travelling and exploring. The combination of memories and childhood, alongside the perspective of today and the now, the aesthetic and style establish the life of a second-generation immigrant, growing up between two different places. These influences result in in textiles which celebrate where we come from whilst still fitting into the contemporary.
