At the end of last year, a piece of social news caused a heat discussion and even a virtual war among netizens. This incident made me think why people change their positions so easily and why so many people are led by incomplete information. I think the cyber society in the post-truth era is the new normal that I want to focus on. I made up a simi-fictional story based on the post-truth theory. This story I had made up when I visited the Jim Thompson House in Bangkok. I imagined the story about Jim Thompson who disappeared but didn't die, just changing his identity, becoming someone else who named J. Robinson. So the background and all the characters are real. But the relationship between those two people is fake. I hope to through my work to remind people not to trust the appearance too much and think deeply about the truth and falsity of the virtual world.
The Disappearance of Jim Thompson (a semi-fictional story)
I made a little documentary-style film of a story I had made up when I visited the Jim Thompson House in Bangkok a few years ago. I imagined the story about this guy who disappeared and didn't die, changing his identity and name, becoming someone else who named J. Robinson. I wrote a little script, and then I did dubbing and edit it into a little film. So the background and all the characters are real. But these the relationship between those two people is fake.
