The "new normal" implies a phenomenon that did not exist or happened accidentally, now appears and becomes a common thing or habit. Therefore, I decided to start with the coronavirus outbreak. During this period, various situations after the outbreak have changed our lives, and humans have gradually adapted to them. These changes not only have an impact on human life, but also have a negative impact on human psychology. The sense of distance between people is gradually becoming stronger, people are afraid of intimate contact and emotional communication in public. This leads us to overlook some good relationships that already exist.People are like animals trapped in cages, which makes their psychological emotions can not be well sorted out.
Primary research
I took some photos in some public places. Most of the pictures show people's sense of distance and self-protection.

Fabric development-First direction
The first development is related to people's current psychology, which refers to a state of internal imprisonment.
Fabric development-Second direction
The second development describes that long-term isolation may bring us a negative atmosphere of despair and suffocation.
Fabric development-Third direction【1】
In the third development direction, I mainly want to express the interpersonal relationship that people have neglected for a long time. The first starting point is moldy food.
Fabric development-Third direction【2】
The second starting point is moss, a plant that has been left unattended for a long time and grows in a humid and dark environment.
Final design
It is a semi-finished product (a collage of materials and pictures)
final work detail(semi-finished product)
The plan for the finished product is to use the experimental fabric as the main material for the mask. The picture shows a basic design of the mask, and the background shows the fabric development I decided on.
