who i am
In the New Normal project, I used a flat drawing design. During the COVID-19, my mother and I have been isolated and living at home for two months. My work is about my interpretation of myself in the past few months. My new normal is to tolerate and accept my imperfect self. I began to find how everything fits together. I found air, light, water, spider webs, and Simmons bed. I extracted the contours of the curves that contained each other. I started to change my geometric composition. I tried to incorporate curves into my painting techniques, the intersection of lines and the blend of colors. With the straight line of view and the curved composition, I rearranged and distorted my facial features. In the process, I changed my 6-year traditional painting skills, and I began to accept changes in different styles and innovation. This is a process that tests patience and skill. It is through these that I can explore new painting skills. I tried drawing on a tablet for the first time. Through computer video teaching and my own exploration, I finally drew my final on the tablet.
