I created an installation art made of recycled wood with the background of the Shanghai garbage recycling program. The shape of the installation is inspired by the annual ring of trees. When the tree falls, the growth rings will appear in front of people, It means the death and disappearance of trees. Therefore, I hope this project can bring people's reflection on the problems of felling trees and wasting forest resources. At the same time, I hope that this installation is like a continuation of the forest, which can exist in every corner of the city, just like new plants regenerate in the city. It is my sincere hope that the installation should come from the fact that when people are reading or resting on the installation, they may realize that these wooden frames are all from the remains of disposable chopsticks, furniture, or buildings recovered in the Shanghai garbage recycling program. It demonstrated that business development and environmental protection are not mutually exclusive.
