This design is inspired by the experiment of Mentos and Coke and the melting of glaciers. The upper of this pair of shoes is made of glass tube with Mentos and soda inside. When the wearer is running or walking, Mentos and soda will react to release carbon dioxide, and the liquid will be ejected from the tube and sprayed onto the wearer's feet. The shape of the glass tube is like animal skeleton, I hope it can remind people to protect wildlife. The texture of the sole is inspired by the melting of glaciers and is made of clay. When the clay dries, the sole will disintegrate and drop as the wearer walks, like a melting iceberg. The main point of this design is 'If we just go ahead regardless, we will lose everything'. This pair of shoes is a conceptual design, lacking some experiments to control the reaction of Mentos and soda. If possible, I can also try to use modeling and 3d printing to make shoe uppers.

Collage 1

We are like a baby surrounded by various extreme natural phenomena and warnings. We don't cause them completely, but we still relate to them, because we live on the earth.

Collage 2

While we are building modern life, we deprive nature of resources. We seem to have found a balance, but this is not the case. What humans do exceeds the capacity of nature.

Collage 3

We are like a bottle of Coke on the earth, developing our own society and technology in the bottle, releasing a lot of greenhouse gases. Those ejected cokes represent our pollution to the earth.
