In this project my inspiration was Islamic Art and tiles. It began when I looked at photographs online on the Leighton House Museum website, showcasing Islamic tiles and mosaics. When I visited the V&A, I discovered more Islamic Art, which I then went onto do more in-depth research on. When looking at the tiles, I was most intrigued by the florals and textures of the tiles. I then began working and experimenting with flowers, combining my ideas together to create samples. Here are my final samples, showcasing different materials, techniques and processes. I used a range of different fabrics, such as PVS. I also used different techniques, for example using the embellisher to create my own fabric, beading, using the Princess Pleater to create pleats then hand embroidering on top and many more.
