My concept from this project grew from my visit to Kew gardens. I was fascinated by the colours, shapes and patterns on these natural forms. I decided to focus on the texture and structure of the bamboo plant, mushrooms, and moss. I was interested by how the mushroom and moss grew and the way it flourished; this gave me inspiration for potential design ideas. The bamboo brought in the linear element in comparison to the more sporadic and busy patterns of the mushroom and moss. My final collection started with hand crochet where I was able to manipulate organic forms, I used varying weights of yarn and included other materials, the use of mixed mediums to create this merging relationship and thus amalgamate collection was shaped.
