This project is a group of 3D drawings (connected via a spot welding machine) that materialises selected domestic furniture in a bedroom setting. This set of liner sculptures mirrors the format of a secure and domestic environment that facilitates the viewer’s immersion, while also promising to provide a sensation of displacement. It replicates a living room layout, creating a strong sense of déjà vu for audiences, but is placed in a formulaic white-coloured space, creating an air of uncertainty. Lihong views this sensation as a non-exclusive emotional experience since viewers may recognise the physical forms of daily objects or the combination and placement of furniture, which could evoke their emotional resonance.
