The Diamond of Hope

People always think that the melting of icebergs is something for the distant future, but many things come much faster than we imagine. The glaciers are disappearing now. The famous Hope Diamond is said to have a curse which brings bad luck to its owner. My work references this famous legend. My “Hope” Diamond made on thermal paper and is a collage of photographic images of 12 disappearing icebergs. This paper diamond is not all blue, but when exposed to 40 degrees Celsius for a long time, it gradually turns blue and when the blue colour fills the diamond, perhaps this will mean that the doom of humanity has come.
