Now, the temperature in many cities in China has exceeded 40 degrees, a new high since the meteorological record. My hometown is facing challenges. In half a month, the high temperature red warning was issued 11 times. For people, due to extreme weather, residents' electricity demand continues to increase, which leads to electricity load. Relevant departments have to implement power cuts to maintain electricity supply. Therefore, many communities experience power outages for several hours a day, and most people live been affected. Then, before, cicadas could be heard every day. However, now, the cicadas are hot to death. In August, it became quiet. These natural disasters and this unusual serenity made me reflect on the negative impact of the climate crisis on my hometown. Therefore, I use heat waves as the theme of my work, aiming to increase people's awareness of environmental protection.
