Inspired by my love of cooking, I came to realize that people love to buy and hoard food. Based on lived experience, I began to explore the details and external characteristics of food that often appear in our daily life. I found that most of the food we eat has a natural source, and yet we are separated from its origins. So, in my practice, I am questioning the symbiotic relationship between food, nature and people. I often chose to use food that we are familiar with from our own daily consumption- food that comes from supermarkets, from mass produced food sources. I use these with fragmented bodyparts to question our relationship to the natural and the human-made and highlight our estrangement from these sources of food. In this way I look to reveal how far from nature we have strayed in our need to feed ourselves, by creating uncanny hybrid food plants' that are artificially placed into the natural landscape once again.
