Dystopia

Inspired by the dystopian narrative, this work aims to push the deconstruction and reconstruction of materials to create something new. Stemming from the electric darks trend, this project explores the mixing and experimentation of various textures and materials from natural fibers to plastics. My process included creating distressed materials inspired by peeling and shredded surfaces, as well as repurposing and reconstructing found materials—bleaching away the base colors of fabrics and redyeing or sublimating over them to create new base textiles which were then cut up and stitched back up together.
