My Final Masters Project “The Last Forest Spirit” is based on sculptural shapes and forms from ancient civilizations and indigenous cultures, biophilic and biomorphic forms, the weeping willow, and visual Bilateral symmetric patterns found in nature. This artifact-based costume was my response to the atrocities of deforestation and the recent alarming increase of the burning and clearing of amazon rainforests.
The performance evokes three states, from initial harmony and balance moving onto chaos, anguish and destruction and ultimately ending with states of death and decay symbolizing parallel real world events.
