This project was informed by a trip I took around Central America. There, I observed the rich history and culture that is commemorated through religious festival, acknowledging artefacts from Pre-Colombian civilisation. After recognising the significance of identity in these communities, I wanted to establish a more profound understanding of folklore. Comparing cultural heritages in an attempt to uncover the dark areas of British history. Themes of Dance, Ritual and Pilgrimage are documented through mediums of ancient textile techniques, achieved using sustainable materials and methods.
