The ‘specimen’ here is stretched by thick metal chains anchored to a steel frame; tense and taught, but not yet ripping. the contrasting materials here a nod to the feminine and masculine but also the organic and industrial, the body and the dissection tray. the stretching and piercing of this body part seems barbaric, but acts here as a physical representation of the intangibility but very real brewing of female rage. the skin is surprisingly resilient; the supposedly fragile material remains, for now, intact
