The "Metamorphosis of Traditional folklore character Poludnitsa" costume is a fusion of organic elements and a traditional folk outfit that transitions seamlessly between the two. Poludnitsa or ‘Noon Witch’, appears during noon in the rich harvest fields of Ukraine, believed to be guarding them. The costume is designed to captivate and symbolize the interconnectedness of nature and culture. It then transforms by being ‘torn apart’ to reveal a new layer of the costume, rich fertile Earth. The costume transformation into a reconstructed version, reflects Ukraine's strength in the face of adversity.
