What can you do with socks after they’ve saved their primary purpose? I wanted to explore the childish style of mending and repurposing knits. I drew inspiration from traditional knitting techniques and patterns but with the mindset of a child at an arts and crafts table. I wanted the collection to be whimsical and silly while still maintaining its wearability. One of the simplest and transformative ways to repurpose a sock is putting it over your hand to magically create a living, speaking creature - the sock puppet. So head to toe in sock-inspired garments, are we wearing the puppet, or is the puppet us?
