The inspiration for "Memories Want to Go" comes from Tianming Zhang's personal experiences and reflections on the phenomenon of memories fading away unconsciously. For Tianming, reminiscing about departed loved ones is both comforting and emotionally challenging. She doesn't want to deliberately dwell on them every day, plunging herself into pain, yet she fears that those memories will slowly fade in colour until her departed loved ones disappear completely. Over time, she discovered that memories are self-altered and self-dissipated. Occasionally, a sight—a bouquet of flowers, an earring, a particular colour, gesture, or even a scent—may passively reignite a specific memory. Yet, these recollections transform into varied forms as time progresses. Five years later, Tianming decided not to hold onto memories tightly anymore, allowing beautiful wishes and imagination to bless the deceased to live happily and freely.
