Large scale charcoal drawings are something I love to create. The connection I feel to the work is so physical as use my hands to seamlessly blend tones together. I also produce lots of smaller scale charcoal pieces in order to generate ideas for bigger things. I find it such a versatile medium, I can use it to make refined, rendered shapes or frantic, obvious mark marking.
