If sound loses its functionality, is it possible to enhance the effectiveness of visual means of communication? Sound Nihilation is my final work during the study in Pgdip Design for Visual Communication, LCC in 2022. This is a sound visualisation project that intervened with physical devices. In order to explore the role of the medium in communication, I used 'meaningless' sound as a source of input that resonates with the audience's senses, which is called synaesthesia, intending to facilitate secondary communication and explore the communicative function of audiovisuals.
