In this project, I made a photographic artwork, and the concept is to visualize the effects of heatwaves on our skin, allowing viewers to see and feel the discomfort of heatwaves, and to draw attention to heatwaves as part of the climate crisis.
The theme of heat wave was initially inspired by the climate change in my hometown of Fuzhou. Heat waves are one of the most dangerous natural weather hazards and cause health problems due to a range of problems such as heat exhaustion. People should be aware that their skin turning red and dry are indicators that heat is impacting them. I chose four skin problems: These effects not only show up on our skin, but they are also common signs of heat that we often overlook. These are signals that remind us of the impact of high temperatures.
