My project is called ‘Saving Life.’ It is a cartoon style illustration that represents air pollution. It is inspired by a film called Life After People, directed by David de Vries, which depicts scenes of the world after all the humans are gone. Through the seven panels of art, there is a story being told. At the beginning, the humans and the environment lived in harmony. As time progressed, the humans began to industrialise, however, they were proud of their industry because it meant economic growth. Soon, they realised the dangers of industrial pollution and the importance of nature, but it was too late. In the end, plant life had to rely on humans to survive—as human compost—resulting in the death of all humans, and the slow revival of nature.
