Coral Bleaching Phenomenon #MarkVincentGroup8 #ClimateCrisis2024

My idea is grounded in the belief that art should transcend mere aesthetics to become a catalyst for environmental awareness and action. Integrating artistic elements into specific environmental issues is more infectious. That's why I changed my design style to make a product-oriented work.

Influenced by the knitting artist called Rasa Vilcinskaite, I use knitting to show corals. This work merges functionality with artistic vision, using the umbrella's form as a symbol of protection while portraying the consequences of coral bleaching. By using knitting techniques and materials, such as color-changing yarn and copper wire, I capture the transformation of coral ecosystems.

Through my art, I seek to bridge the gap between awareness and action, encouraging viewers to reflect on their impact on the natural world.
