The aim of this work is to reveal the impact of global warming on animal habitats. Climate change is exacerbated by human industrial activity, glaciers are melting and polar animals are threatened with habitat loss. I was inspired by Urs Fischer's candle sculptures, which show the passage of time through the burning of candles. Inspired by him I chose to use melting candles to express the melting of glaciers.
Final presentation of work: flat glass shards, dripping wax and lighting candles. It expresses the fact that the melting of glaciers leaves no place for animals to live, and that after the glaciers melt the animals fall into the ocean which is full of garbage dumped by humans. It hopes to draw attention to global warming and habitat loss.
