In my view, every piece should have both aesthetic beauty and social value. In my project, Huang Mei, I explore the impact of climate change on the eyewear industry, which provokes thought and draws attention to significant social issues. My project is inspired by my experience in Shanghai's 'HuangMei' season. It explores the impact of climate change through a minimalist approach. I designed eco-friendly eyeglasses and eyewear cases using acrylic and biomaterials. The unique silhouette of the eyewear minimizes material waste during laser cutting, and the decorative patterns on the cases draw inspiration from extreme weather events in Shanghai. This approach showcases my commitment to sustainability by reducing waste and pollution in production. My artwork is deeply committed to impressing the audience and having deeper reflection. I aim to raise awareness about extreme climate events and prompt reflection on industries' influence on these changes.
