I am drawn to controversial art and design. The motivation behind my creation is to counter environmentally harmful fashion.
In this project ‘Mottainai (What a waste)’, I have created a poster focusing on the massive fashion waste issue contributing to the climate crisis and utilizing obsolete clothes and textiles as raw materials for the poster. Inspired by the musical ‘The Lion King’, the poster depicts a solitary animal, a lion, living in an ever-changing natural environment and reflects my environmental ethic or message about how things ought to be, ‘Mottainai (what a waste).
Through my work, I aim to promote the behaviour change of fashion consumers who do not mind throwing clothing away by raising awareness of the massive fashion waste issue.
