My work takes its name from a type of pollution that occurs during oil extraction. Specifically refer to the uncontrolled release of oil from the ground into the atmosphere can lead to atmospheric pollution, as well as damage oil and gas reservoirs and deplete subterranean hydrocarbon resources.
The work is inspired by actual incidents and authentic photographs from my hometown Dongying. It appears to me that regions affected by oil development pollution are coated with an indelible layer of grease. This insidious contamination subtly impacts the subterranean water and atmospheric environment, gradually depleting the vitality of life within the ecological system. I created a collage using watercolor paintings and photos, enhancing the effect with software.
