My artworks pay close attention to the unexpected and bad results caused by global warming, especially the big increase in extreme cold weather. I want to clearly show the serious bad effects of climate change and imagine a future that might have another ice age. In that future, the last plants would be important signs of hope. In "Frozen World: The Final Clue", I smartly combine weaving and mixed media to carefully create an attractive frozen scene. I use alum and gelatin to show ice and snow well, and carefully shape iron wire into the forms of strong plants. Shown in four petri dishes, this work shows a world full of ice, where these plants are protected as the most important clues to life. Through the potent visual of my work, I really hope to make people more aware and strongly encourage them to take action to solve the serious environmental problems.
