In my project ‘Images of Change’ I explore the negative impact of film on climate change, global warming and environmental health. Temperature regulation is essential to sustain human and animal life. However, current climate pollution problems are leading to high temperatures, more frequent and severe hurricanes and typhoons, torrential downpours, accelerated glacier melting and rising sea levels. These changes are leading to the loss of habitat for many animal species, thereby destroying ecosystems and jeopardising biodiversity. The core objective of the project is to use video as a means of communication, highlighting the importance of environmental protection and the impact of human activities on nature through cinematic techniques. Specifically, the project focuses on capturing the pollution and environmental damage caused by plastic waste, in particular waste generated by the processing of digital video cameras. This approach aims to vividly demonstrate the direct consequences of modern technological practices on the environment. In order to achieve these goals, Images of Change employs an approach to filmmaking that emphasises the visual representation of environmental damage. The project's creative style is influenced by Christopher Nolan's cinematic techniques, including his shooting, composition and colour palette. By incorporating these elements, I express the film's impact on the climate and also enhance the viewer's awareness of environmental damage. Through this combination of art and advocacy, Frames for Change aims to deepen public understanding of the climate crisis and protect the environment.
