As a fashion designer, I am very concerned about the development of sustainable fashion. Therefore, I created this work which is called " Gorgeous Wounds". It’s inspired by the air and water pollution from the textile industry caused by fast fashion. In the work, the blue background represents the sky and the river, and the purple ornate and glossy silhouette symbolizes the oil floating on the water and the wounds. At the same time, it’s also ironic that human beings always like to use cheap, gorgeous and fashionable clothes to cover up their shortcomings and satisfy their vanity, while neglecting the fact that they are bringing more wounds to the earth. Through this work, I hope to call on people to be aware of the neglected environmental issues while pursuing fashion and convenience, and to reduce the environmental damage caused by the textile industry.
