This project aims to critique and argue that the multi-dimensional nature of avocados.
The avocado has evolved from a simple fruit to a globally traded commodity, lifestyle representative and exotic image, sparking numerous contradictions. The internet’s fragmented nature and rapid dissemination of information have led to a focus on what avocados represent, rather than what they are.
This project intends to provide a different perspective on avocados. We tend to take things for granted, that we never try to understand them in depth. This publication encourages us to step back and explore the perceptions and misconceptions tied to the avocado from a broader materiality perspective. Maybe we can uncover the myths and stories that have been created around avocados in our society.
