This project started with a cactus character in Jason's exhibition. During the research process, the different shapes of the cactus's thorns reminded me of fireworks. Combined with my theme "Cultural Identity", fireworks naturally reminded me of the traditional Chinese Spring Festival. Starting from fireworks, I gradually expanded the scope of my research. Then I combined it with the traditional Chinese dress cheongsam to design my final. I hope that my final will celebrate the Chinese New Year in a romantic way. To achieve this goal, I decided to use light and transparent fabrics such as organza, tulle and chiffon and combine them with beading techniques to give a new look to the traditional festival.
