Cultural Identity For this project, I reflected on my childhood and memories of growing up in Spain. During a class visit to an exhibition, I selected an envelope with stamps, which immediately stood out to me. This collection felt significant because I’m now far from "home." As I moved further into the project, I explored various Spanish traditions, particularly the stamp collection my family has back home. Intrigued by the rich textures, colours, and details. I created drawings inspired by these memories and developed samples using techniques such as Cornely, satin stitch, beading, tufter machine, appliqué, and more. I also used childhood images to evoke the colours and emotions tied to those memories. In my research, I looked at collections from three designers: Valentino Spring 2025, Chopovalowena AW24, and the 2024 Bimba and Palomo collaboration. Their vibrant, sentimental, and playful designs resonated with me and influenced my work. I drew inspiration from their use of colour and fabric to complement my own drawings and colour palette, using vibrant fabrics to expose the mood and bring my designs to life.
