For this task I chose to go with the theme ‘Future Living’, in which I investigated coral reefs and the bleaching of them, while developing I looked into things like the use of plastics and protest. I used many different techniques within my sample making such as satin stitching, beading, pleating, etc. Two designers that inspired my work were Elie Saad and Zuhair Murad, this is because their intricate embroidered designs in the form of haute couture, which is what interests me the most. For my final samples I used a lot of satin stitching on the Juki machine and beading to add embellishments to my designs, these techniques are techniques that I have found myself being confident and successful in.
