This project was inspired by the photographs and illustrations I saw in the welcome collection. The theme they expressed was about how a person people no matter where they lie or die, they will miss their hometown and family. So in this case, how should we treat the dead who have no one to take care of them, and how to respect and deal with this state of lonely death properly? This reminds me of a professional culture that exists in Xiangxi, China. Where they are responsible for transporting people who died in accidents in other countries back home, a job called" The corpse of Xiangxi technique.” I did some research on the culture of the corpse of Xiangxi technique in China, including the special tools they use the clothes they wear, and the rituals they use to pray for blessings. I used these things as inspiration for the development of the fabrics and chose strong reds, greens, blues and yellows as the main colors. In addition to researching and using knitting techniques, I explored new materials for this project, using bamboo weaving techniques to simulate texture.
