Asphyxic
Asphyxia, a condition of deficient supply of oxygen to the body. For this project I explore nihilism, hedonism, and pain in the interlinkings between US Southern Rap/Trap/Drill, and Norwegian Black Metal. I have had my own journey with nihilism, depression, and self-harm leading me to have been heavily interested in these respected genres through my adolescence, recognizing their similarities over time. I look into the underlying roots of the energy that created these genres, how I found comfort within them, and the realities of the stark differences of the artist's environment with my own.
