What If 2123!

What If 2123! is a collaborative project with students from various disciplines. I work as a creative director and a design manager. The team took on a speculative approach towards house hold technologies in year 2123, while battling with food shortages and limited natural resources.

Resource Scarcity

Resource consumption in agriculture Agriculture's extensive resource use and high greenhouse gas emissions exceed those of industry and households combined. Despite this, global food insecurity remains a pressing issue. "In 2022, around 258 million people across 58 countries and territories faced acute food insecurity...up from 193 million people in 53 countries and territories in 2021." (Food Security Information Network, 2023) The Ukraine-Russia war has led to fluctuating food prices across Europe, highlighting the interconnectedness of food security with environmental, economic, and political conditions worldwide.

Sustainable Diet

Bio Printing Technology

There has been ongoing trends about bio printing of cells, organs and even a wagyu steak as a possible sustainable measure to produce food. By combining the technology of turning waste into food safe materials using them to print food, it can greatly help in producing food more sustainably.

3D Printing Chef Robot

Unamously, we have decided to merge 3D printing technology with the idea of house keeping robot that runs completely on the combination of solar power, and energy obtained from combustion of food waste. We believe that this vision will ensure the regenerative use of energy, while addressing the growing need of having a higly personalised technology to assist in our daily repetitive tasks.
