Moduweave
Moduweave is a building block that combines traditional Chinese mortise and tenon construction with symbolic culture. Moduweave is not only a set of wooden toys that can be freely assembled, but also a cultural medium that can convey emotions and meanings. The project is inspired by the structure of ancient Chinese window panes and auspicious motifs such as the ‘回’ pattern, which is traditionally regarded as a symbol of wealth, peace and longevity. Moduweave can be used for spatial modelling, desktop decoration, or as a sentimental object with a wishing meaning. Users can ‘assemble and pray’ like building blocks, so that culture is no longer just viewed, but also participated in, reconstructed and inherited.
