This project looks at how weddings and marriage today are shaped by consumerism and internet culture. On platforms like REDnote, wedding planning has turned into a checklist guided by KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) and their endless tutorials. Under their influence, what should be a personal, meaningful event gets standardized, packaged, and sold, turning people’s own love stories into copies of the same online fantasy of a “perfect wedding.” This project follows a young woman as she learns the “rules” of marriage through social media. Step by step, guided by KOLs and viral guides, she transforms from someone clueless about weddings into the ideal “perfect bride”, polished, styled, and molded to fit society’s expectations. Each image captures her shift, showing how individuality fades as she’s remade by likes, shares, and trends.
