Monachopsis: a quiet ache in feeling out of place. 'Monachopsis' represents a personal experience of constant surveillance, imposter syndrome and distortion of identity. The clothing conveys this sentiment of having to rebuild, destruct and build again, shapes warping and appearing in unlikely places with complex fabrics and distorted structures. Each piece iterates identity armour, coupled with undercurrents of fear, strength, sadness and the cyclical act of repetition. Each piece juxtapositioning softness and harshness in the veins of the seams. Angéline has created a collection to open discussions of silent discomfort, vulnerability, haunting darkness and discovery of self. In destruction, beauty is found.
