This project develops an ethical and sustainable business framework that enables contemporary fashion brands to collaborate with traditional textile artisans across cultures. Drawing on qualitative research with artisans in India and Austria, ethical brand founders, and multinational supply-chain experts, it proposes a scalable model that balances cultural preservation with global market reach. The study combines interviews, field observations, and documentary analysis to identify barriers, opportunities, and strategies for equitable partnerships. The final framework adapts industrial supply-chain tools while embedding artisan autonomy and transparency, offering a practical toolkit for designers and entrepreneurs committed to cultural sustainability and ethical fashion. Future work should explore pilot testing of the business model design alongside field research on multiple cultures and their craft heritage.
