Skin Anecdote
"Skin Anecdote" is a collection inspired by the different ways of dealing with skin imperfections. The pieces sensitively retell different "conditions" and attitudes. Pearls are used to imitate rashes and wrapped leather imitating plasters. The collection was developed, exploring tactile qualities of materials, as well as referencing related objects, like surgical needles and medical braces translated into pieces of jewellery. Translating this subject into pieces of jewellery, subtly questions our ideas around imperfection and invites the wearer to broaden their appreciation of beauty and to encourage, to beautify, to value the divers natural skin textures and the stories behind them.
